John Lee Ka-chiu

John Lee Ka-chiu was born in 1957 and graduated from secondary school education at Wah Yan College (Kowloon). Lee joined the Hong Kong Police Force (HKPF) in 1977 as a Probationary Inspector of Police before taking up key positions in various units, including the Criminal Investigation and Complaints Against Police departments. During his time with the Force, he obtained a master's degree in public policy and administration from Charles Sturt University in Australia through the HKPF's self-study programme. Lee was promoted to Deputy Commissioner of Police in 2010.

In 2012, Lee was appointed as Under Secretary for Security of the HKSAR Government. He was appointed as Secretary of Security in 2017. In June 2021, Lee was appointed as Chief Secretary for Administration of the HKSAR Government.
